Garcinia cambodgia (60% HCA)

Hydroxycitric acid is derived from exotic fruit of garcinia cambodgia. The mechanism of its action is still unknown, but it is thought that it blocks conversion of additional carbohydrates into fat tissue 8 – 12 hours after the meal. HCA also is responsible for satiety feeling and reduces appetite, which supports dieting and fat tissue reduction.

Caffeine

The most popular alkaloid that can be found in coffee beans. According to recent research, it doesn’t increase blood pressure, but has potent thermogenic effect. It lowers level of adenosine to maintain high level of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) – intracellular transmitter that is directly related to thermogenesis control and lipolysis (fat tissue breakdown). It means that high level of cAMP leads to thrmogenesis, lipolysis and anticatabolic state. Caffeine stimulates central nervous system, which leads to increase of focus and decrease of mental fatigue. It is also connected to glycogen metabolism, decreasing glycogen use during workout, which indirectly leads to increased endurance.

Green Tea extract

Extracted from tea leafs. Inhibits deactivation and elimination of adrenaline which means that it increase and prolong thermogenesis induced by synephrine (citrus aurantium extract). Active compound of green tea extract are EGCG, epigallocatechin gallates. Depending on level of standardization, there can be differences in thermogenic power. Moreover green tea extract is potent antioxidant with vast spectrum of healthy properties.

Citrus aurantium extract

Alkaloid containing synephrine that is similar to epinephrine. Synephrine is catecholamine neurotransmitter produced in endocrine glands. Epinephrine is the strongest stimulant of thermogenesis due to its ability to increase cAMP levels in the body. It cannot be supplemented, because it’s not stable and too dangerous in higher doses. Synephrine proved to be very helpful, because its effect is less potent but very similar to epinephrine.

Guarana extract (Paullinia cupana)

Guarana is a plant known of its energizing effect. Its main compound is caffeine, which is important for maintaining proper body weight.  Guarana’s seeds contain 4-8% of caffeine, which is 4 times more than in cocoa seed. Guarana, as a caffeine donor influences metabolic rate and thermogenesis during the workout. Ginger extract (Zingiber officinale)
